The DS-7116HGHI-M1 supports 1080p Lite, 720p Lite, WD1, 4CIF, VGA and CIF recording resolutions for 1080p-stream access; 720p, WD1, 4CIF, VGA and CIF for 720p-stream access; and WD1, 4CIF, VGA and CIF for standard-definition access. Main-stream recording supports up to 15 fps for the listed 1080p and 720p modes. It provides up to 16-channel synchronous playback, so an operator can review multiple cameras from a single incident window.

For IP expansion, the DVR supports up to 18 total IP camera inputs (2 standard plus up to 16 enhanced channels) at up to 5 MP, with H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264 IP cameras supported.
